Cardi B has continued to tease her long-awaited followup to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy — and now she’s revealed that one important aspect of the album is done…sort of.
On Saturday (August 17), Bardi posted on X in response to a fan who asked her if the album’s cover was ready.
“Album covers are taken,” she replied. “I just don’t know which to pick.”
See the message below.
Cardi has not released many details about her sophomore album. But recently some hints dropped as to what the title might be.
TMZ spotted that late last month, Cardi’s company Washpoppin, Inc. applied for trademarks to two phrases, specifically wanting to use both in “Pre-recorded record albums featuring music,” among other related uses.
The phrases are “Defamation of character” and “Intrusive thoughts.”
In addition to albums, Cardi also wants to be able to use the phrases for music videos, “downloadable music files,” and more.
Cardi hasn’t only been busy choosing album names and cover photos. She’s also been shutting down rumors about her finances.
In a since-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) on August 4, the Bronx rapper quoted a tweet in which a user on the platform had shared screenshots of an article from British tabloid The Sun which suggested she may be millions behind on her mortgage. Along with the photos, the person called Cardi’s financial health into account.

“First of all, The Sun is posting rumors that y’all are making up and sending blind items about… that’s why it’s NO DOCUMENTS, just word of mouth,” she wrote. “Everybody gets a loan to buy a house and I never been behind on any of them.. i bought my house in 2021 and put almost 12 million in it now look how much I got left.
“I’m very responsible with money, my bills come before luxury and I just spent 400 thousand on jewelry this month because I also still know how to BUDGET… stop playin wit me.”
The “Press” rapper also included a series of screenshots of text messages from someone appearing to be her publicist or manager, communicating with Cardi and someone else about the erroneous headline in The Sun. As of this writing, the article which prompted Cardi’s response seems to have been taken down.
According to Page Six, the soon-to-be mother of three made a similar post on Monday (August 29), in response to rumors that she and Offset were trying to sell their Atlanta home “amid a ‘secret’ financial crisis.”
