Since its debut seven years ago, Our Yorkshire Farm has seen Reuben Owen mature from a young teenager into a strapping young man.
The 21-year-old has been a familiar face on the show, helping his parents Amanda and Clive Owen with Ravenseat Farm in Swaledale and launching his own enterprise.
His latest adventures are now being broadcast on Channel 5’s Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales.
During the series, viewers get to see Reuben expand his Groundwork company with support from mates and family.
With the second series underway, we delve into the life of the Yorkshire lad beyond the beloved programme.
New romance

The recent premiere of Reuben’s Channel 5 series introduced viewers to his girlfriend Jessica, who shares his agricultural roots, reports Leeds Live.
It’s believed that the couple met at a Young Farmers’ event and have been thick as thieves since. Reuben has shared that Jessica isn’t fazed by the cameras, calling her ‘happy and chilled out’.
A social media post featuring the couple together shows Reuben is head over heels for Jessica.
He captioned the photo: “She’s so beautiful. It’s not just my life that’s been brightened up since I met Jess, my camera roll is no longer just pictures of diggers and stones. #beutifullgirlfriend #loveyousomuch”
Jessica responded with: “”Aww this is so sweet darling, I love you so much! You are my world xxxx””
Reuben frequently posts photos of Jess, capturing their farm life and getaways.
TV confession

Reuben, who first graced screens as a teenager, has made it clear at 21 that the glitz of the television world is not for him.
Opting out of the social media frenzy, the Channel 5 star disclosed: “If you do ever see me on my phone, I’ll be searching for machinery sales.
“I don’t want a career on television. I want to be known as the guy who digs big holes. My current ambition is to buy a 50-ton excavator. Now, that really would be the realisation of a dream.”
He also shared that the highlight of his life wasn’t connected to his small-screen success, but to the day he saw his name emblazoned on his very own digger.
Public family split

Turning to personal matters, fans initially met Reuben on Our Yorkshire Farm in 2018, getting a glimpse into his family life with parents, Amanda and Clive, along with his eight siblings.
The storyline took a turn as his parents ended their 22 years of marriage, an adjustment particularly difficult for Clive, who had previously spoken about struggling with Amanda’s rising fame because of the show.
Despite the split, the couple appears to maintain a cordial relationship as they both continue their goals on the farm and on their new series, Our Farm Next Door, while Reuben offers his take on his parents’ separation.
Speaking to the Telegraph, he expressed: “I know how it went, and it was all very amicable. They grew apart and split up, but they are still brilliant parents, whether they’re together or not.
“Every now and again, there will be a headline about some little thing that has been blown up out of all proportion. But you can’t be on telly and then expect people not to be interested in what you’re doing off-screen.”
Our Farm Next Door is available to watch on More4.
