The Chase viewers were left crying ‘give me strength!’ after not one, but two contestants fluffed what fans branded ‘obvious’ questions.
Bradley Walsh introduced four hopefuls – Ro, Jan, Sylvia and Ally – as they went head-to-head with Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis on Monday night’s episode of the hit ITV show.
But it was Scottish player Ally who got the fans’ eyes rolling from the very first question of the show.
Asked in his cash builder, ‘In a radiant complexion, what part of the face are described as rosy?’, Ally confidently answered ‘Eyes’.
A bemused Bradley quickly corrected him, saying the answer was ‘cheeks’.
Fans were left aghast, and flocked to social media to vent. One viewer wrote: ‘Rosy eyes! Give me strength!’

The Chase viewers were left crying ‘give me strength!’ after not one but two contestants fluffed what fans branded as the most ‘obvious’ questions
Another asked: ‘How do you get the most obvious question wrong?’ A third joked: ‘Rosy eyes’, yeah if you’ve got the mother of all hangovers,’ while another added: ‘Rosy freaking eyes? WTF!’
Later in the episode, contestant Sylvia suffered her own stumble after a strong £7,000 cash builder performance.
Facing Darragh in the head-to-head, she was asked: ‘What term refers to varieties of tomatoes whose seeds have been passed down for generations?’
Given the options Antique, Relic and Heirloom, Sylvia went for ‘Relic’ – but was swiftly sent packing. ‘It had to be heirloom. It had to be,’ Bradley told her as she bowed out.
Viewers were once again unimpressed, with one writing: ‘Passed down for generations? Relic? Wtf.’
Another said: ‘Passed down, to the heir – heirloom.’ A third agreed: ‘The only answer there relating to something passed down was heirloom.’
Despite the rocky start, the three remaining players made it to the Final Chase with £14,000 in the pot.
They put in an impressive performance, scoring 19 correct answers. Darragh stumbled with a couple of errors, giving the team room to push back and ultimately secure the win.

It was Scottish player Ally (pictured) who got the fans’ eyes rolling from the very first question of the show.
Fans applauded their efforts, with one posting: ‘Well done team… a lovely bunch! Darragh was very gracious.’
Another added: ‘It was a poor effort from the Chaser but an equally good effort from the team, save for the pushbacks.
‘They kept discussing the right answer and then picking the wrong one lol. Still, deserved the win.’
It comes as fans were similarly bemused by a series of ‘grim and bizarre’ questions in a vintage installment of the show.
Contestant Mark won an impressive £6,000 in his cash builder round, but the peculiar questions began in his one-to-one with Chaser Paul Sinha.
One read: ‘The Rosetta Stone is inscribed with a decree on behalf of which Egyptian pharaoh?’
The three multiple choice answers were Rameses II, Ptolemy V and Thutmose III.
A baffled Paul was shocked, saying: ‘That was the hardest question I’ve ever seen on this show,’ as both he and player Mark answered incorrectly.
Fans were left aghast at the shocking blunders, and flocked to social media to air their frustration
The next question was: ‘The US Department of Agriculture requires what to be at least 35 per cent cooked meat and no more than 50 per cent bread?’
The multiple choice options were pizza, kebab and sandwich, and when it emerged that sandwich was the correct answer, the studio was left shocked.
‘Is this a wind-up?’ joked host Bradley, before adding: ‘I’ll have to call the sandwich police. Don’t move, get on the floor.’
In yet another incorrect choice, Chaser Paul selected kebab on the basis that it was ‘the only logical answer.’
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 from 5pm and is available to stream on ITVX
