The 2025 NBA Finals were decided in a thrilling Game 7, and the reward for the incredible season by the Oklahoma City Thunder came in the form of a championship title. The team’s standout star was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and the amount of money he received for winning it all has now been revealed.
There’s a huge difference compared to what Stephen Curry earned for losing in the 2025 NBA Playoff semifinals! Few teams were able to beat the Thunder in the regular season, and one of those teams was the Golden State Warriors.
With two wins and one loss, the Warriors had a winning record over the Thunder in their regular-season matchups during the 2024–25 NBA season, but the two teams didn’t meet in the Playoffs because Curry and company were eliminated in the semifinals.
The Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers 103–91 in Game 7, and according to Marca, the team received a total bonus of $12.4 million dollars. This means that **Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and each OKC player received around $828,000.
The money Gilgeous-Alexander received compared to what Curry earned in the 2025 Playoffs has certainly raised eyebrows.

According to the specialized outlet Sportico, teams like the Golden State Warriors, who reached the Playoff semifinals, received a total of $568,000 USD. This means that, if the amount is divided among the 17 players on the Dubs’ roster, Stephen Curry earned just over $33,000 — about $795,000 less than what Gilgeous-Alexander took home for winning the NBA championship.

In a Western Conference that promises to be fiercely competitive next season, Curry is set to earn $59.6 million USD with the Warriors, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will have a salary of $38.3 million USD with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
