A father has been charged after his partner and their one-year-old daughter were found dead at a home in Queensland.
Kate Paterson, 37, and her 11-month-old daughter were found dead at their Belivah property in Logan, south of Brisbane, about 7.30am last Thursday.
Police allege 38-year-old Blake Seers left the home and was struck by a car about 300m away on Beaudesert Beenleigh Road at Bannockburn.
Witnesses reported seeing a man covered in blood running along a footpath before he was hit by a black ute.
Detective Superintendent Chris Ahearn said investigators believe Seers deliberately ran into the path of the car.
When officers went to notify his family, they instead discovered the bodies of Paterson and her daughter inside the home.

Seers remains in hospital under police guard in a serious condition.
He was charged on Tuesday with two counts of domestic violence-related murder, including one count relating to a domestic violence offence against a child.
Police said he is continuing to receive medical treatment and is expected to appear via video link in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The tragedy unfolded just a day after CCTV captured the family walking together in the street.
Paterson, a Year 5 teacher at Windaroo State School, had recently returned from maternity leave.
A GoFundMe set up for her family described her as âa loving daughter, sister, mother, partner and friendâ.
Police said there were no domestic violence orders in place involving the couple.
The deaths have shaken the local community, with flowers and handwritten tributes left outside both the home and the school.
About 200 people attended a vigil last Friday to honour the teacher and her daughter.
Investigations are ongoing.
