Kyle Sandilands has revealed his wife Tegan Kynaston has put him on a strict diet as he gets ready to return to the air with an all-new show.

The KIIS FM star, 54, told his followers on Wednesday night that Tegan, 40, is monitoring his food intake to help improve his health amid a long ongoing weight battle.

‘I’m coming back guys, Bigger than ever! Actually, not fatter, I’m doing an Albo just quietly, my missus has got me on a diet,’ Kyle said.

‘This morning I ate ten grapes for breakfast. Like, what the f**k? Oh, and two boiled eggs and a four-pack of Coke, I drank half a tin of Coca-Cola,’ he said.

Kyle added that one of the reasons he was dieting was that he was fed up with negative comments about his appearance.

‘I am sick of people talking s**t about me. Enough is enough,’ he said, which prompted Kyle’s long-time manager Bruno Bouchet to reassure him: ‘You look great, mate.’

‘That’s Bruno… He’s being paid to say that… Oh, actually he is not being paid at the moment so it means so much more! Thanks, mate,’ Kyle quipped and then walked over to give Bruno a hug.

Elsewhere in the clip, Kyle, who is locked in a legal battle with his former employers ARN after the cancellation of The Kyle and Jackie O Show in February, revealed he was planning a big career comeback.

‘Let me tell you a little secret… shhhh, don’t tell anyone,’ he began.

‘I’m working on a new project and all will be revealed soon. I’m coming back guys, bigger than ever!’

He did not reveal what the project will be; however, he was shown seated in what appeared to be a recording studio, with a sign in the background reading, ‘Kyle Sandilands Live.’

There was a telling clue in the sign visible behind Kyle in the clip, which showed an image of the radio host alongside the words ‘Kyle Sandilands Live’, implying that the new show Sandilands is working on will go live to air.

However, Kyle did not specify when this new project would launch.

Kyle’s new diet comes after his good friend Mark Holden issued a sobering warning to his former co-star as the shock jock’s legal battle with ARN rages on.

Kyle's health has come to the fore over the last 12 months, with the shock jock revealing, in February last year, that he required immediate surgery after doctors detected an aneurysm on his brain and a second one in his chest

Holden, 71, was a foundational judge on Australian Idol and shared the panel with Kyle for three seasons from 2005 to 2007.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Holden said he was concerned that the pressure the court battle with ARN was placing on Kyle, 54, was not good for his health.

Following his axing from Idol in 2008, Holden transitioned into law, working as a barrister from 2010 to 2023, and knows only too well the toll such high-profile cases can take.

‘He’s unfortunately boxed himself into a corner,’ Holden said.

‘Having spent the last 13 years in and out of courts, the very, very last place I ever want to be again is in a court.’

While Holden was quick to admit that he could see why Kyle was challenging his termination, he pleaded for him to pay attention to his health.

‘There’s no denying that radio is Kyle’s life – he lives for it,’ Holden said.

‘But my advice to him would be: “Get your health correct, because you don’t look healthy.”‘

Holden also pleaded for Kyle to consider the toll the drama was taking on his wife, Tegan, and their four-year-old son, Otto.

‘And the pressure that you must be under, and your heart and all of that – you don’t need to make any more money, mate. Look after your health,’ he said.

‘You’ve got a son and a wife. Look after your health. His money is making him money.’
