A guest on This Morning who lost her husband of 50 years last year fought back the tears as she saw herself for the first time after an iconic Gok Wan makeover.

Three women called Joyce, Penny and Trish appeared on Thursday’s instalment of the ITV programme to get some style help from the fashion expert, 50.

Towards the end of the episode, their new looks were revealed as they walked down the cat walk in front of hosts Ben Shephard, 50, and Cat Deeley, 48.

Retired NHS worker Joyce looked incredible in a green jumpsuit, new mum Penny wowed in a white oversized trouser suit and Trish looked stunning in a multi-coloured maxi dress.

As Trish walked out into the studio, Gok said: ‘I’ve called this outfit with love because you have got so much love about you Trisha. You are so gorgeous…’

Trish looked very emotional as she looked down at the floor and Gok continued: ‘Very sadly Trisha lost her husband last year, after 50 years of marriage. His name was Michael.

‘His name still is Michael. You love him, you adore him. This is about him today wasn’t it?

‘About you feeling proud, making him still feel proud. You’re a bit nervous aren’t you?’

Trish giggled: ‘Yes.’

The DJ linked arms with Trish and walked her down the cat walk to the mirror and said: ‘Let’s make Michael proud.’

As she looked at herself for the first time, she simply said: ‘Wow. He’d love it.

‘He would. He’d really love it, yeah. That is fabulous.’

Later on Gok said: ‘This is about showing this gorgeous personality of yours, and do you know what? A lot of us have felt loss in our lives and they never really have to go.

‘They are always in our hearts.

‘All you’ve got to do is think about how proud he is of you for doing this because it’s nerve-wracking and it’s scary.

‘Hand on heart he’s looking down at you and he’s so proud of you.’

Trish replied: ‘I hope so!’

Gok added: ‘Your body looks great, you look confident.’

Host Ben asked how it had been for her, to which Trish replied: ‘Gok is lovely. He’s wonderful.’

Shortly after, all three women returned to the studio and the star surprised them with some flowers.

Gok told them: ‘Because you’re all dressed up , we’ve also organised, you’re all going out for lunch after this, a posh lunch.

‘You’re allowed to have a shandy if you really want one.

‘You look beautiful.’

Meanwhile Cat looked stunning while presenting This Morning as she flaunted her voluminous blonde locks on Thursday. 

During the episode, she showcased her healthy-looking wavy ashy blonde locks, as she styled her locks into a thick waves.

For the installment, she also showcased her incredible physique in a black leather mini skirt and brown sweater.
