A truck involved in a rampage in Sydney’s west yesterday remains stuck on a footpath nearly a day after the ordeal that left three injured.

The Nissan construction truck rammed several cars in Lakemba just after 5.30pm yesterday, then did a U-turn and struck another car before heading to Belfield and wreaking further havoc.

The truck is still stuck on Carter Street in Belfield, with police and tow truck operators attempting to recover the wedged vehicle.

Residents in Lakemba told 9News they are furious their pleas for a lower speed limit have been ignored.

“It’s a drag race track every day, and there’s two childcares, a nursing home,” local Nick Saba said.

“It’s a disaster waiting to happen. So all we want is to have council and the local police enforce the law”.

The incident began at the corner of Juno Parade and Punchbowl Road, where officers called to the scene found the truck had rammed a car and driven from the scene.

It then collided with several cars at the intersection of Seymour Parade.

One passenger jumped from a car and was treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

Witnesses said the truck hit several more cars along Seymour Parade before crashing into a tree and stopping at the corner Carter Street and Burwood Road in Belfield.

Police said a child was among three people injured on Seymour Parade and taken to hospital for assessment.

The 39-year-old truck driver, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to St George Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police are investigating the cause of the incident, and the man has not yet been charged.
