The second series of Reuben’s show, Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, is currently being broadcast on Channel 5.
The programme follows Reuben as he expands his emerging heavy plant machinery business in the secluded Yorkshire Dales, alongside his family and friends.
In tonight’s instalment, springtime descended upon the Dales, ushering in a hive of activity.
The team’s initial task was to handle Reuben’s substantial order of cropped stones. After hand finishing a hundred tonnes in the abandoned quarry, they paid a visit to a family-run stone merchants to glean insights from the experts, reports Gloucestershire Live.

Meanwhile, Reuben’s girlfriend Jess was entering her busiest period with the onset of lambing season at her family’s farm.
However, a problem soon arose when Reuben and Jess, while driving through the field, noticed a newborn lamb requiring immediate care.
“I don’t think that ewe is letting that lamb suck, she keeps turning when he’s trying to suck,” Jess observed.
The pair proceeded to check the lamb for signs of milk intake, and potential need for additional treatment.

“This lamb was born about an hour ago, and he hasn’t sucked. He’s got cold and just laid and shivered. She hasn’t really licked him either,” Jess explained while handling the lamb.
The distressed ewe’s offspring urgently needed to consume some milk, or it could perish within hours. Consequently, both animals had to be brought indoors.
Jess and Reuben were successful in getting the ewe to feed her lamb, with Reuben emphasising: “This will be the most important meal of his life.”
Jess added: “He needs to have it quickly as well because the colostrum is full of all the antibodies from the ewe.”

Jess then highlighted the urgency by mentioning that without the colostrum, the lamb risked contracting watery mouth disease, noting: “It’s really bad, it can be life-threatening.”
She went on to say: “Once his belly’s full then it’ll be great. I was panicked because I thought if she goes in there with sixty sheep, they won’t know who she is.”
Reuben commended Jess’s efforts, remarking: “That’s another little life saved, well done darling.”
Following the crucial feeding, Jess brought the lamb indoors to dry off and warm up, before reintroducing it to its flock in the field.
