After this milestone, the LA Lakers star was asked if he was now the greatest of all time, and he did not hesitate in his response: “I always feel like I’m the best to ever play the game. That’s the confidence I have, that’s what I think I’m worth. But if this record elevates me to the ultimate level, I don’t know.”

He continued, “I’ll let everyone decide based on their own opinion. I place myself ahead of everyone else who has ever played basketball. When people talk about the greatest scorers in history, my name will have to come up.”
