Latto has continued her successful 2024 with another big honor this week: being named “Trapper of the Year” by T.I. and his Trap Music Museum.
Big Latto received the honor at a private event on Thursday (August 29) at the museum that featured DJs, Latto-inspired karaoke, the unveiling of a Latto exhibit, and the rapper receiving a custom Trapper of the Year ring — you can see the ring for yourself here.

“In this era of women, where their impact on culture is undeniable, REVOLT is proud to partner with the Trap Music Museum to honor Latto as this year’s ‘Trapper of the Year,’” said Detavio Samuels, CEO at REVOLT, which was one of the media partners of the event. “We continue to spotlight the creators and visionaries who shape our culture, both locally and globally.”
Runners-up were 2023 Trapper of the Year Future, Kodak Black, GloRilla and 21 Savage.
Check out some highlights from the event below.
Latto may be piling up the awards and honors following the release of her latest album Sugar Honey Iced Tea, but she has her own ideas about who deserves accolades.
Appearing on Complex’s GOAT Talk earlier this month, the Sugar Honey Iced Tea rapper and her sister Brooklyn Nikole named their picks for greatest of all time in a variety of categories, including rap.
For Brooklyn, the answer was easy: “I’m not even gon’ lie, I have to say you. Not even being biased. I listen to you the most. You be on my top.”
“The GOAT is Lil’ Kim, for sure,” Latto replied. “Fashion icon, timeless music, timeless looks, gon’ forever be a staple, in not only rap, but female rap.
“And she the GOAT because she is a queen for real. Like off camera, she a queen… I love her, and she ‘Big Mama,’ too. It’s just a Big Mama thang.”
As for Joe Budden, he’s placing Latto over Doja Cat when it comes to ranking women in rap music.
On an episode of Budden’s eponymous podcast that dropped on Saturday (August 11), the New Jersey native gave Latto her flowers as he discussed her new album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea.
“First of all, Latto is one of the women that I support,” he said. “So I purchased this without listening to it at all. I have not gotten through the entire thing, but I went through the samples and I heard what I needed to hear.”
