WILMER, Ala. (WALA) – A mother and her two children were found dead early this morning in a home on Auble Moody Road, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.

Woman, pregnant teen and child found murdered, Mobile County sheriff says

Lisa Fields, 46, and her two children, 12-year-old Thomas Cordelle and 17-year-old Keziah Luker, were found murdered. Luker’s father said she was eight months pregnant.

Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch said the father of Luker’s child saw her phone activated on Life 360 but was unable to reach her. Another family member went to check on her and found all three victims in separate rooms with their hands bound behind them.

Details of the attack

“The mother was stabbed, the 17-year-old was shot, and the 12-year-old’s throat was cut as was the mom,” Burch said. “It tells me that they had a plan coming in to bring zip ties or flex cuffs with them so they had a plan.”

The sheriff’s office said there were no signs of forced entry and it’s unclear what the motive was behind the attack.

Luker’s 18-month-old daughter was also in the home but was left unharmed and is being taken care of by family members.

Potential charges

It’s unclear how many people are responsible for the murders, but District Attorney Keith Blackwood said he’s looking at all options once an arrest is made.

“There are several ways the charges could go as far as capital murder,” Blackwood said. “There are two victims under the age of 14, that could be a potential charge depending on what the investigation shows. If there was a burglary for the purpose of committing murder. There’s in the presence of a child.”

The sheriff’s office said the house appeared as if someone was looking for something but it’s unclear if anything was taken.

Family mourns loss

Luker’s father said he can’t understand why this happened.

“We’re not doing good. It’s a senseless murder,” he said. “She was a bubble of sunshine. A person that makes you smile; a person that’ll make you laugh whenever you’re down. She had empathy for everybody. She loved her brothers; she loved her mom she loved all of us.”

He said his daughter just got her GED and he’s struggling to come to terms with what happened.

“My baby she just wanted to be somebody. She wanted to be a good mother and a good sister to her brothers, and I mean my God for nothing,” he said.
