Out of nowhere, Damian Lillard’s name started trending on X. What happened? In one of those unexpected decisions, the NBA star point guard suddenly found himself without a team—and almost immediately, the Golden State Warriors were mentioned in a piece of news about Dame that has already reached over 107,000 views.

Stephen Curry is excited! Even though Lillard has never worn a Golden State Warriors jersey, he’s already been linked to the San Francisco team. Why? Because during his childhood, he was a fan of the Dubs, and every time he plays as a visitor against them, he feels at home.

“When I come here (Oakland), I play in my hometown. When they start playing in San Francisco, my family will still come anyway. But the memories from here and what it used to be will be different,” Damian Lillard said back in 2018.

The Milwaukee Bucks shocked the NBA world by parting ways with Lillard—even though he was still under contract. The team, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, let the star guard go to make room for Myles Turner, whom they signed to a 4-year, $107 million deal. And just like that, the Warriors appeared on the horizon for Dame.
