As all eyes begin looking toward the future of the popular rom-com series, the latest news finds an auction seemingly confirmed Emily in Paris season 5. Though Netflix has yet to make an official decision regarding the fifth season, it seems as if plans are already in place to continue the story. The streamer participated in an auction at the amfAR Gala at the Cannes Film Festival which allowed donors to bid for a walk-on role in Emily in Paris season 5. The money was for HIV/AIDS research, with the winner bidding €250,000 (roughly $271,073.75).

Since the auction was held, the website has been updated to note that the walk-on role is contingent on season 5’s renewal and the winner also received a trip to the season 4 premiere in Los Angeles. Though the prize is seemingly conditional, the confidence with which Netflix was willing to offer a small part in season 5 suggests that the streamer is confident the series will continue.

Even though all signs point to Emily in Paris scoring a season 5 renewal, Netflix has yet to make the official call. Despite delays caused by the 2023 Hollywood strikes, the popularity of the streamer’s signature rom-com series hasn’t waned, and its evident that season 4 will continue the show’s hot streak that started back in 2020. However, until Netflix makes the renewal order, the fate of Emily in Paris is still undecided.

Considering the fact that Emily in Paris season 4’s storyline isn’t wrapped up yet, it’s difficult to predict exactly what will happen in season 5.
