*Looking for a strong sisterhood with Nicki Minaj and her younger sister Ming Li? Look elsewhere. The pair don’t look to be on each other’s good side as Li’s comments on her famous sibling can be interpreted in a less than loving way.
An interview Li recently did during a Stationhead broadcast found the “Moment 4 Life” rapstress on an unnamed person who is opting to ““speak openly about a private person” in interviews.” Word from fans is that Minaj’s remarks may be directed at Li.
“Why would a person speak on a person they love?” the entertainer said. “Why would a person speak openly about a private person? Why would a person do that? Who would you speak about in your interviews if someone wanted to interview you? Yourself, right?”
As the chat progressed, Minaj went further in on who was on her mind, stating “it’s always a sign” if someone who’s “not even in your line of work” winds up doing interviews with those who are.
“I think y’all think talent, like, you can catch it like a cold or maybe people can pass it through the genes,” the Barbz leader added. “Even with blood relation, what God has given to me is mine. You have to go and get your own. You have to discover whatever it is that you’re great at. Being a mooch and a clown don’t run in my DNA.”
Minaj’s words mark the latest development in her relationship with Li. According to LoveBScott via Complex, Li spoke on her relationship with the entertainer in an interview to the We in Miami podcast in June. It was that chat where she confessed that she and Minaj were “never close.”
Despite this, Li said she grew up always “trying to impress” her older sister.
One thing to take in is the fact that the sister’s lack of closeness can be attributed to their age gap, which spans more than two decades.
Responding to Minaj’s comments, Li took to social media to weigh in on what her sister said. Overall, she still loves Minaj, with God coming first in everything.

Li has since responded to Minaj’s remarks, taking to the comments of a recent IG update to express “love” for her sister despite what was seemingly said about her.
“I still love her,” Li posted on a recent Instagram update. “I tried as a sister to please her but I realize I gotta please God first ‘cause only he can judge the gift he gave me.”
