The Canadian was recently named Most Valuable Player over Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets) and just scored 31 points in the first game of the Western Conference Finals against Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now, does Gilgeous-Alexander’s salary match his impact on the court?
According to Sporting News, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander earns a salary of $35.8 million per season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. To put this into perspective, that’s significantly less than the $48.7 million earned by another NBA superstar, LeBron James, currently with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Now, leading the list of highest-paid players in the National Basketball Association is Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. The Chef currently earns $55.7 million per year with the San Francisco franchise.
