Police are hunting a man who broke into a home and sexually assaulted a woman while she slept.
Authorities have released an image of the suspect, believed to be in his 20s, as they appeal for the public’s help to identify him.
Police say a woman in her 30s was allegedly sexually assaulted in her Blacktown home, Sydney, on Tuesday night after a man approached her in her sleep.
“Police have been told that the male approached a female in her thirties in bed and sexually touched her,” Superintendent Brendan Gorman of NSW Police said.
“There were no injuries other than the shock of the incident. He was chased from the premises by her husband.”
Detectives are now investigating whether the incident is linked to suspicious activity in the area late last year, including underwear stolen from a clothesline and a man seen looking through a window on the same street.
Police are urging anyone with information, or who recognises the man in the photo, to contact Crime Stoppers immediately.
