The daughter of veteran Channel 7 news presenter Rob Brough has died after a long and brave battle with cancer.
Brough, who first became a household name as host of Family Feud, left his on-air role in regional Queensland in late 2024 to spend time with his daughter Jess Willmot, who was battling the disease.
The mother of three was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 and endured months of surgery and treatment before being declared cancer-free.
But in 2023, doctors discovered a lesion on her brain, leading to a devastating diagnosis of aggressive brain cancer.
On Friday, Jessica’s husband Tammen Willmot confirmed his wife had passed away.
He shared the heartbreaking news on a GoFundMe page that had been set up to support the family.
“She fought with a strength and courage that inspired everyone around her,” Tammen wrote.
“Even through the hardest moments, she showed what true resilience looks like.
“While our hearts are completely broken, we find some comfort in knowing she is now at peace and no longer suffering.”

Tammen remembered his wife as a deeply loving partner, friend and mother.
“The space she leaves behind is immeasurable, and our family is navigating a loss that words cannot fully capture,” he said.
“We want to thank every single person who has supported us, prayed for us, donated and stood beside us throughout this journey.
“Your kindness has carried us more than you could ever know.”
Tammen said he was now focused on honouring his wife, supporting their children and learning how to move forward.
Jessica’s funeral will be held on Friday, with friends and family asked to wear her favourite colour blue in her honour.
Brough, 71, anchored Channel 7’s Queensland nightly bulletins across the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and Mackay before stepping away from his role in late 2024.
Speaking to the ABC last year, Brough said it was an “instant choice” to leave work when his daughter’s condition worsened.
“About four years ago our daughter Jess was diagnosed with breast cancer,” he said.
“That was pretty confronting.”
The former Family Feud presenter and father of three said the family was devastated again when Jess developed a secondary cancer in her brain.

“We got to a tough stage where things weren’t working and not a lot of options were available,” he said at the time.
“It was just an easy choice for me to leave work and spend as much time as I could around her and her family.”
Brough said his days were largely spent caring for his grandchildren on the Sunshine Coast, including driving them to and from school.
“Family is everything and we live together,” he said.
“That’s a beautiful thing because bringing up your children and then being a part of your grandchildren’s upbringing is as good as it gets.”
