A teenage boy who suffered critical injuries when he was hit by a car a week ago has lost his brave fight for life.
Chris Rua Antony, 16, was struck by a Toyota C-HR station wagon which lost control at Narre Warren South in Melbourne’s south-east on February 13.
The teen was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he died on Friday, his family announced in a heartbreaking tribute.
‘With profound sorrow and deep faith in the promise of eternal life, we announce the passing of our beloved son, who was called to the Lord on Friday, February 20 2026 after bravely fighting seven days in hospital following the tragic accident,’ the online post read.
‘May Chris’s soul rest in God’s eternal peace. Thanking you for your prayers, love and support during this difficult time.’
The 48-year-old woman who was behind the wheel also suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The car slammed into a tree after the collision.
Investigations into the crash continue. No charges have been laid at this stage.

‘The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and an investigation is ongoing,’ a Victoria Police statement read.
