MAFS Goes Global! Channel 4 Unveils Explosive “Second Chance” Series Pairing UK & Australia Fan Favourites — With a Bru:tal New Twist

If you’re a fan of Married At First Sight, you are in for a treat, as Channel 4 has just announced spin-off show Second Marriage At First Sight.

As its title suggests, the new format is effectively an all-stars version of the original show and will feature brave contestants from the UK and Australian editions whose original marriages at first sight did not work out.

The show comes with a twist and it will see British singletons paired with Australians before they have to decide whether their new spouse is worth moving to the other side of the world for.

The show’s synopsis reads: ‘The experiment begins again in the UK; each couple will navigate cultural clashes and old wounds before they head to Australia to meet friends and family on the other side of the world and face the ultimate decision: who will consider uprooting their life for love?’

While a release date for the spin-off has yet to be announced, Channel 4 has confirmed that the series will take place over 24 episodes.

It is also not known who will be taking part in the show, but given the number of MAFS marriages that have gone wrong since the show’s inception in 2015, there have been a lot of failed unions… and some success stories too.

Channel 4’s Head of Reality Entertainment, Steve Handley, said: ‘These eight well-loved MAFS singles didn’t find lasting love the first time, but they haven’t given up – and neither have we.

‘Everyone deserves a second chance at love and this time they’re saying “I do” to a stranger on the other side of the world, risking absolutely everything for another shot at getting it right.

‘I think it will be our greatest love story yet.’

Television company CPL’s CEO, Murray Boland, said: ‘We’re so looking forward to this.

‘Research* shows people in Australia have more successful and enduring relationships with Britons than any other nationality.

‘We are genuinely hopeful that our brave singles can finally find the love they have been looking for.’

News of the spin-off comes after Married At First Sight Australia bride Gia Fleur got fired up during Tuesday night’s episode, as she ripped into her tipsy man of honour just hours before her beach wedding to Scott McCristal.

The 35-year-old disability support worker was seen preparing for her upcoming wedding when her close friend William showed up to help in the preparations.

However, Gia did not appear to appreciate his assistance and began furiously telling him off.

‘I’m not ready yet, f**k off,’ Gia sniped at William, who entered her bedroom as she was getting her makeup done.

Gia then proceeded to tell William off for ‘distracting’ her during such an important day.

‘I have a s**t-ton still to do, stop distracting me. We are really time-crunched, don’t p**s me off,’ a furious Gia said.

However, William was having none of it and bluntly told Gia: ‘Breathe, calm down, don’t be a Bridezilla.’

‘I was good until you came. Can you just f**k off for five? I’m done, I don’t want you in the limo, f**k off,’ an emotional Gia ranted.

With this in mind, it can only be imagined how stressed out those on Second Marriage At First Sight might be when they realise that they are marrying a stranger for a SECOND TIME.
