Fern Britton, the former This Morning presenter, has attributed her stunning weight loss transformation to one simple factor.
The 67-year-old TV personality, who once confessed to feeling ‘terrified’ about getting undressed in front of her new partner last year, has proudly flaunted her slimmed-down figure.

Britton has always been candid about her weight struggles, with her size fluctuating between a 22 and a 12 over the years. Despite looking healthier and fitter than ever following her recent health overhaul, she sparked controversy when she opted for gastric band surgery back in 2006.

The TV host, who was married to celebrity chef Phil Vickery for two decades, underwent the procedure which reduces stomach capacity and slows food passage, aiding weight loss by creating a sensation of fullness after consuming fewer calories.
In addition to the surgery, Britton reduced her carbohydrate intake and eliminated microwave meals from her diet to enhance the operation’s effectiveness. However, during the Covid lockdown, she admitted to gaining weight.
The mother-of-four, who embarked on a new relationship last year, confessed that the prospect of her new beau seeing her naked was ‘daunting’. This prompted her to embark on a fresh weight loss journey at the beginning of this year, and she has already showcased her impressive results, reports the Mirror.
She attributes her transformed appearance to one key element – exercise. The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant couldn’t hide her joy as she donned a vibrant pink long-sleeved top paired with black mini shorts to show off her progress.
Fern has seemingly converted one of her bedrooms into a home gym, as evidenced by a photo featuring a barbell weight and various hand weights. Alongside the image, which highlighted her toned legs, Fern penned: “REPOWERING after a sloth like winter… #TheOlderIGet out in paperback now.”
Kicking off the year with a resolution to achieve peak fitness, Fern embraced running, cycling, walking, and weightlifting, expressing her commitment to this new regimen.
At the outset of the year, Fern shared: “I’ve started running again and gone back to couch to 5K. New year, new fitness regime. Later on in the year I’ll be walking a small leg of the south west coast parts which will take about a week to do.”
She continued, detailing her preparation plans: “I’ll be meeting my friend, who will be doing the whole 360 miles of coast, but I’m in training doing some walks throughout the week and wearing a rucksack with some weight in it and wearing my boots to wear them in.”
Outlining her fitness objectives, she added: “I shall start running again, two or three times a week and I’m going to start cycling again and will do some weights to get my arms and shoulder a bit stronger again.”
Reflecting on her body image last October, Fern candidly remarked: “It’s daunting at any stage of life to get naked with someone new. These days my body looks as if it could do with a good iron or perhaps even better a steam press.”
Fern Britton has spoken out about her anxieties of finding love in her 60s after her recent divorce. Britton said: “So, as I contemplate seeking a new relationship in my 60s, that’s a whole added layer of pressure. I have wrinkles, wobbly thighs and bosoms that I roll up like a Swiss roll to tuck them in my bra. Could I display all this to a new partner? I genuinely don’t know.”
However, the thought of a new relationship still scares her, she said to the Mail: “Although I see it as an important part of my re-powering, I find the prospect of a new relationship terrifying as well as tempting.”
Fern confessed: “I imagine what it would be like to have someone to talk to and walk with. Someone with whom to share hobbies, hold hands and maybe… gulp… get intimate.”
