This Morning viewers were left baffled as Geri Horner showed off not one, but three different accents during her appearance on Thursday’s episode.
The singer, 52, was on the ITV daytime show to discuss her brand new best-selling children’s book Rosie Frost: Ice On Fire.
Her new book – which retails from £7.99 – is the second in a trilogy that began with the 2023 bestseller Rosie Frost And The Falcon Queen.
Revealing what the book is about, she told hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond: ‘Rosie Frost, she is set in present day, she’s orphaned, but this is un-airbrushed orphan grieving and she’s sent to an island.
‘The island is a bit like Jurassic Park but for endangered animals at a school built by Queen Elizabeth I.
‘She’s sent there, they are all descendants of Tudors. So if you like history it’s all in there.

‘It’s then a page-turning action adventure, and she has to find the courage to face up to bullies.
‘It’s the second book and she finds out her mother was murdered and wants revenge. And there’s a little bit of love in there as well.’
‘Is it true that she sneaks out as well, and this is based on you?’ Alison asked, before adding: ‘She’s a little bit naughty and she sneaks out to see boys.’
Geri clarified: ‘I wouldn’t go as far as that but I’m always borrowing little bits. You know, whether it’s from inside of yourself or other people.
‘You know, you’ll find yourself in these characters.’
Turning her attention back to what the book is about, she continued: ‘This book is about revenge, you know the ricochet of revenge. For example, if I do something bad to you and then you do it back.
‘It just goes bang, bang, bang, but afterwards you feel a bit icky. She behaves quite badly in it but then realises, was it worth it? It looks at that.’
Dermot then asked the singer where she gets her ideas from when it comes to the inspiration behind her work.

Revealing how long the book took to write, she said: ‘This one took 18 months, I’m writing the third in the trilogy now. It’s a dream come true’
Geri replied: ‘I’m a bit of a curious, lazy, nerd. Like you, you’re always finding out about things. I just wouldn’t it be nice if the world had a new hero.
‘Someone that’s not prefect. That if I see it, I can be it. Boys cry but they are not wet wipes. You know there’s all different kinds of characters. You’ll find yourself in there.
‘Not airbrush, not perfect. I thought we need that. But it’s also entertaining and funny, and real.’

When asked if she would ever want to play the characters she has written, the noughties star replied: ‘I thought I would want to play a teacher if it became a film. I do the accents for the audio book.
‘You haven’t got a Brummy in there, but I do some accents.’
‘What accents do you do?’ Alison asked, before Geri said: ‘I had an acting accent coach there.’
She then switched into a Southern American accent as she described one of the characters. ‘She’s like “oh my God Alison, you got to be out of your mind”.’

Geri then put on an Irish accent as she said: ‘Then we got a Dermot, he’s kind of just Dermot, “what are you talking about?”‘
Finally, Geri changed into a French accent. ‘Then we have Madame Lure, “you’re just so elegant. I’m so proud of you”,’ she said.
‘You’re so good. I want to listen to the audio now. I’m not going to read the book,’ Alison gushed.
Geri then leaped into Alison’s arms and gave her a big hug as Dermot sat awkwardly beside her.
Following the interview, fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts on the interview.
They said: ‘Geri Halliwell on #ThisMorning is behaving bizarrely. It’s like she’s shouting (hurts your ears) & emphasising every word & just over intense & try hard. If she says if you can see it, be it one more time… V odd how over the top it is, talking abt her book like it’s Shakespeare;
‘Is something gonna come out about Geri cos she’s really trying to make herself out to be great with Alison;
‘Geri… just stop, this is an absolute cringe;
‘Geri has always been pretentious;
‘Geri just always comes across so so false;
‘WTH is Geri on?? #ThisMorning;
‘Geri always sounds like an excited toddler #thismorning.’
