Coleen Nolan has revealed she’s split from her partner of three years Michael Jones.

The Loose Women star, 59, began dating the supermarket logistics worker back in 2021 after meeting on Tinder, with the pair gong on to have an on-off relationship in which she dumped him three times.

However, in a heartbreaking update on her love life, Coleen told how the couple have decided to part ways  for good and remain friends, while revealing the reason behind the breakup.

She told OK! Magazine : ‘We’ve decided that we would rather just stay friends, take it as a friendship, And, you know, it’s nothing to do with anyone else, it’s nobody’s fault.

‘But I’m really busy and when I’m not really busy with work I’m busy on the farm and I feel personally that I can’t give time to everything. We still get along great and hopefully we can continue to be friends, who knows?’

Coleen’s choice to remain friends with Michael comes amid her close friendships with her ex husbands Shane Richie and Ray Fensome, with Coleen noting that this attitude comes with ‘age and experience’.

The singer noted that with turning 60 next year, she hasn’t ‘got time’ to wait to see ‘what happens’ in a relationship as she may have done in her twenties, as she remarked that ‘life’s too short’.

On her break-up, she added; ‘I’m not going to say it wasn’t sad, because of course it was. But I really hope that once that sadness goes away we can continue to be friends. I don’t regret any of it, it was fabulous. Michael came along at just the right time for me and I think over the last three-and-a-half years we’ve helped each other grow.’

Reflecting on her love life, the TV personality told how she always opted to focus on ‘the times that were great’ and not the ‘sad ending’, recalling that despite the last two years of both of her marriages being ‘horrendous’, she won’t forget the ‘fantastic’ 10 years she had before that.

Despite the sadness of her split, Coleen is looking forward and focusing on running her dream farm, which she shares with daughter Ciara Fensome and Ciara’s fiancé Max, with Coleen stating that the farm is her ‘happy place’.

Earlier this year, Coleen had hinted at a potential engagement to Michael after admitting she is ‘obsessed’ with looking at diamond rings as she showed fans a typical afternoon after hosting Loose Women.

Sharing a clip on her Instagram page, the TV personality, who had recently moved in with her partner, explained in the caption: ‘What I do after work while I’m in London xxx.’

In the insightful video, the former singer gave her followers a look into her retail therapy as she browsed around Westfield in west London – admitting she got lost the last time she visited the massive shopping centre.

After perusing some shops, Coleen couldn’t pass by a stunning jewellery window display – stopping to admire a stack of gleaming rings as she told the camera ‘Come here. I am not saying I am getting engaged or married but if I was, I am obsessed with looking at diamond rings. They’re a bit expensive these lot.’

The Loose Women star couldn’t resist it the beauty and said cheekily ‘I am not going in,’ while heading inside the shop.

Yet, the TV sensation later insisted she won’t get married to Michael unless he signs a pre-nuptial agreement.

Opening up with Kaye Adams on her podcast, Coleen said: ‘I think Michael would very much like to get married at some point. If it meant a lot to him, maybe I would, but I’d bloody make him sign a great big piece of paper before I did, because I’m not going through that again.

‘I’ve looked into it. 100 per cent. It’s sorted from there and it’s a reference point; no-one thinks they’re going to split up.’

She went on: ‘I’ve always been against prenups, because I find them really unromantic and very much like you’re going into it going: ‘Well, it probably won’t work, so sign this.

‘Hopefully it will work and we’ll never have to look at that piece of paper again, but what I went through on my last divorce I don’t ever want to go through again. Even though I didn’t hate Ray, there were times when I was going: ‘Oh my God, this is so unfair.”

As she prepared to move in with Michael, Coleen admitted she has previously pushed Michael away, after being hurt in the past when ex-husband Shane cheated on her.

She told The Mirror: ‘I might get engaged, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m going to walk down the aisle.

I know Michael would like to marry me and to be fair to him, it’s probably from insecurity because I’ve finished with him three times since I met him.

‘It was all my issues, because of what I’d gone through, so I was pushing him away thinking I couldn’t deal with it. I’ve had therapy, I’ve sorted my life out, and I’m very open to everything he’s providing me emotionally, and it’s fantastic. So let’s not try to fix something that isn’t broken.’

She was previously married to EastEnders star Shane for nine years between 1990-1999. He is the father of her two sons, Jake Roche and Shane Roche Jr.
