Holly Willoughby couldn’t hold back her tears on Saturday night after a surprise reunion with the woman who delivered her daughter Belle 13 years ago.

The presenter, 44, appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and was asked if she remembered a very special guest.

Taking a second to consider the woman in front of her, Holly said: ‘I think I might know but I just want to be sure.’

Michael teased that was the whole point of the game before prompting the Dancing On Ice host to explain what she was thinking.

Welling up, she said: ‘I’m thinking we might have met each other, 13 years ago.

‘The reason why I’m saying 13 years ago is because that was the day my daughter Belle was born. And this amazing, incredible woman is called Fredette.’

Michael and Fredette confirmed what Holly was correct and the special guest was the midwife who had helped deliver her now teenage daughter.

Holding back tears, The Celebrity Bear Hunt star said: ‘Fredette was so amazing because Belle was five weeks premature, so she was so tiny.

‘I was so scared and worried and I just remember Fredette, I just remember you saying “we’re going to breathe this baby out”. And I just listened to you and it was your voice then when you just said “Do you remember me?”.

‘I’ll never forget your voice.’

Holly found it ‘hard’ to articulate how much that moment had impacted her as Fredette said she also remembered the TV star.

Holly added: ‘It’s one of the most scariest things you’ll ever go through because you just want everything to be OK.’

The blonde beauty then pointed out that her daughter was in the audience and thanked Fredette for ‘bringing her into the world’.

Fredette revealed she had worked as a midwife since 1982 but has now retired.

Holly ran down to the stage to hug Fredette before taking to Instagram after the show to share behind-the-scenes pictures of the midwife meeting Belle.

She shared a sweet snap of Belle and Fredette hugging and thanked her for the ‘unbelievably special’ moment.

She wrote: ‘And 13 years after bringing her into the world, Belle got a hug from the midwife who delivered her…soooo special!

‘Fredette, thank you for everything you did for us on that day 13 years ago …you are an Earth Angel! … and thank you for coming onto Micheal McIntyres Big Show and making that so unbelievably special…❤️’

Holly shares daughter Belle with husband Dan Baldwin. They are also parents to sons Harry, 15, and Chester, 10.
