Shocking new video may shed light on the horror crash in Bolton that killed four people yesterday.
Video footage showed a driver hitting speeds of more than 120mph while weaving in and out of traffic and is reportedly forming part of the police investigation into the fatal head on crash on Wigan Road yesterday.
The clip appears to show a car travelling at high speed on a busy street with the driver overtaking other cars and veering into the oncoming lane. The speedometer appears to hit 122mph at one point in the clip.
The video is believed to have been shot by an occupant of the Seat Leon involved in the fatal crash which killed the three teenagers inside the vehicle and a 54-year-old taxi driver in a Citroen C4 Picasso.
The driver of the taxi was today named as 54-year-old Masrob Ali.
The video clip has been shared extensively on social media, with a timestamp on the video showing it was filmed at 3am, which is understood to be Saturday morning (January 10) – just shy of 24 hours before the fatal crash at 12.50am on Sunday.

A timestamp appears to show ’03:00′
Greater Manchester Police are understood to be probing the clip as part of their investigations, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Police said emergency crews were scrambled to the scene on Wigan Road after the red Seat collided head-on with the Picasso. The driver of the Seat and two passengers died.
They have been identified as being Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, 18, Farhan Patel, 18, and 19-year-old Mohammed Danyaal. The driver of the Picasso, 54-year-old Masrob Ali also died in the ‘devastating’ crash.
Five injured passengers were taken to hospital from the scene. In the Citroen, a 29-year-old woman suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.

A 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man suffered serious injuries and a 29-year-old man has minor injuries. An 18-year-old man, who was a passenger in the Seat, remains in hospital for treatment on minor injuries.
Mr Ali’s family described him as being ‘the gentlest soul’. They said he had worked as a taxi driver for around 10 years.
His oldest child, 29-year-old Humayra, said: “Nobody has a bad word to say against him, he was so kind and the best dad. When they knocked on our door and told us what had happened I was just so confused.
“Dad was such a safe driver and even when we said we were worried something might happen he would say ‘don’t worry about me’.”
Detective Inspector Andrew Page, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are still in the early stages of our investigation and work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this terrible incident. As an investigation team we would encourage people to be mindful of sharing footage on social media given the impact this will have on all the families involved in such a tragic incident.
“Thanks to patrols in the area, teams were able to get to the incident location quickly to what was a particularly challenging scene for colleagues in the emergency services. I want to thank first responders from our Bolton district and the Road Policing Unit, alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service for their hard work since this incident.
“The scene closed on Sunday evening, but we are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Anyone who saw the vehicle driving before the collision, witnessed the incident itself, or has dashcam/ CCTV footage of the incident can share it with us.
“You can contact us on directly on 0161 856 4741, quoting log number 111 of 11/01/2025. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
