What to expect from season 2

In season two, Bergerac faces one of his most challenging cases when shocking events unfold at a wedding reception in Jersey.

As for his personal life, Jim ventures back into the world of dating, with the encouragement of his daughter Kim (Chloe Sweetlove). He doesn’t hold out much hope of meeting someone until he crosses paths with Nicola (Camilla Beeput), a visitor on the island.

The synopsis continues: “Romance is also in the air for Bergerac’s formidable mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford (Zoë Wanamaker), who has found a new man in her life, the effervescent, charming Nigel.

“But in the same breath as meeting Nicola, Bergerac is pulled into his next big case when the groom at a wedding reception is found murdered in his hotel room. Could the groom’s final words hold the key to the killer’s identity? Jersey needs their best detective to start digging.”

What has Damien Molony said about season 2?

Teasing the new series in an exclusive interview with HELLO!, Damien said fans can expect “lots of twists and turns” and ” all those wonderful elements that make a great detective series”.

“What I was really excited about series two was, was a chance to see a new side of Jim,” said the Irish actor.

“Series one was defined by his grief. We’re now 18 months further down the line and people are starting to move on,” he continued. “His daughter Kim is moving on. She’s moving to a music school in England. Charlie Hungerford is moving on, she’s dating, and so Jim’s in danger of being left behind. His support network is kind of disappearing.

“So he is now tentatively, dare I say, reluctantly, dating and starting to put the building blocks to his life back in place,” explained the actor, adding: “But of course, it wouldn’t be a good TV series if we didn’t challenge that.”

All episodes of Bergerac season two are available to stream on U.
