As the model recovers from her latest surgical procedure, she reveals that she doesn’t feel ‘free’ with JJ Slater

Her recent tell-all with TV dating guru Paul C. Brunson delivered multiple jaw-dropping shocks, one of which was her confession that she’s not feeling her ‘happiest’ in her relationship with TV personality, JJ Slater.

And now, sources tell Closer that Katie Price’s relationship with the MAFS star has a ‘shelf life’, and she’s waiting until her birthday to cut the cord.

An insider tells Closer, ‘Katie likes to throw bombshells, she’s all about getting a reaction and she loves to whip up a frenzy. That being said, she’s grown bored of her relationship. She craves excitement and drama in her life. The grass is always greener on the other side for Katie. Pals think she’s waiting until her birthday and then she’ll ditch JJ as the ultimate gift to herself – freedom. He is no longer a priority in her life, he’s last on the pecking order of importance these days, and he knows it.’

Rumours have been swirling for quite some time that things are not as perfect as they seem between Katie, who turns 47 this week, and boyfriend, JJ, 32. The pair raised eyebrows when they spent last Christmas apart, and earlier this month Katie – who was previously married to Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler – wiped all evidence of JJ from her Instagram page, a sure sign that there could be a break-up on the horizon.

When she made a recent guest appearance on Celebs Go Dating coach Paul C. Brunson’s podcast, We Need To Talk, the relationship expert told Katie that she should feel ‘happy’ and ‘free’ with a partner, Katie admitted, ‘I’ve never had that in any relationship. Never had any of them.’ She also revealed, ‘I’ve never known what a healthy relationship is.’

The former glamour model, who was launched to fame under her alter ego ‘Jordan’ in the mid-’90s, continued, ‘And JJ, he’s the most kind, genuine, easy-going, chilled person. But do I feel my happiest and do I feel free? No. It’s not a reflection on him, maybe that’s what I need to change for myself.’

The mum of five – to son Harvey, 22, from her relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke, Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, who she shares with her first husband Peter, as well as son Jett, 11, and daughter Bunny, 10, from her third marriage to Kieran – has been with JJ since early 2024, right after he rose to fame on Married At First Sight UK.

To fans’ surprise, the pair got serious quickly, and despite having a 14-year age gap, JJ has insisted that they’re perfectly happy together. He said, ‘With our age, it’s not even a consideration… age doesn’t matter at all. Age is just a number and when you’re older it’s not an issue. We’re both on the same page and wavelength and that’s all that matters.’

The couple have even looked into fertility and possibly having a child together, and Katie – who last year starred in a Channel 4 show about her IVF journey with ex Carl Woods – is adamant that she wants more children.

However, now that things between her and JJ appear to have gone south, that dream may need to be placed on the back burner.

A source previously told Closer that JJ was growing fed up with Katie’s flirtatious behaviour, saying, ‘He told Katie that she needs to rein in her wild behaviour – he absolutely hates it. He tells her she can still be sexy without totally disrespecting him. When they’re out together, Katie plays up to her persona and tells some guys to DM her. She thinks JJ is overreacting – and she’s made it clear she won’t stop.’

Now, a source confirms to Closer that JJ is now even more tired of her games and contradictions. ‘He feels like he’s dating two completely different people,’ an insider says. ‘He has never stopped Katie from doing anything, and now his friends and family think the writing is on the wall!’

A new single life won’t be the only change for Katie – she also recently underwent Endo laser and filler surgery on her bum, the latest in an ever-expanding list of surgeries including breast enhancements, facelifts, lip filler and veneers. She admitted to Paul C. Brunson, ‘I don’t even know how much [surgery] I’ve had, I don’t even think Google knows!’ However, insiders say that she feels it still isn’t enough, and she won’t rest until she’s achieved the perfect physique.

The source says, ‘Katie has spent her life creating curves to make her look and feel more feminine, and even after her latest surgery she’s still not satisfied with her new bum. It needs time to heal before she can get more work done to it and the process can’t be rushed, but she won’t stop until she reaches her ideal body.’
