A new NBA season is coming to an end, and in the coming days, we’ll find out which team will take home the coveted championship ring. The Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder have already played three of the possible seven games. For now, the Pacers lead the series 2-1.

Meanwhile, the rest of the teams are already starting to think about the upcoming season, and as happens every year, there will likely be a few surprise trades. The Los Angeles Lakers, who had hoped to win the title after the blockbuster signing of Luka Dončić and with LeBron James on the roster, ultimately fell short when it mattered most.
Now, the team is looking to regroup, strengthen the areas that need reinforcement, and gear up to seriously contend for the championship in the upcoming season. The front office is already working on possible moves, and a breaking news report has shocked the entire NBA.
According to The Sporting News, citing information from Jovan Buha, senior Lakers reporter at Bleacher Report, LeBron James is no longer considered untouchable within the organization and could be traded during the summer market — a scenario that no one saw coming and one that could completely shift the league’s landscape.

The clause in LeBron’s contract
That said, The Sporting News also revealed that LeBron has a clause in his contract that gives him the right to decide whether or not he wants to be traded. In other words, even if a team makes an offer and the Lakers are willing to accept it, if LeBron says no, the trade doesn’t happen. He retains full control over his future.

The Only Untouchable Player for the Lakers
In the meantime, the Lakers are putting their faith in youth and have already made a decision: the only untouchable player on the roster is Luka Dončić. The former Dallas Mavericks star is one of the NBA’s top talents, and in his second season with the Lakers, he will aim to lead the team on a championship run.
