With ITV confirming earlier this year that it will not air the series of Family Fortunes kept on the shelf following allegations against its presenter Gino D’Acampo, it has now been revealed that the new series of Celebrity Catchphrase will move from its traditional Saturday night slot to Sunday nights this Spring in place of Family Fortunes.

ITV have also confirmed that – as revealed by TV Zone earlier this year – the broadcaster has recommissioned Celebrity Catchphrase for an eleventh series, with the tenth series coming soon.
Each episode features three celebrities contestants all playing for charity. If the three celebrities can ‘say what they see’ they could get the chance to win £50,000 for their chosen charity. Transmission details for the new episodes, and celebrities taking part, will be announced in due course.
ITV commissioner Gemma John-Lewis said: “We’re delighted to announce a further series of the much loved family favourite, Celebrity Catchphrase. The only show where you say what you see, the hugely popular series continues to win legions of fans and with Stephen’s infectious and playful humour it’s a firm favourite with our viewers.”
Gary Chippington, Executive Producer and Creative Director of STV Studios Entertainment, added: “It’s testament to Catchphrase’s fantastic format and universal appeal that it’s still one of the UK’s most-loved entertainment shows, four decades after ITV first commissioned it…
“The incomparable Stephen Mulhern is a huge part of the show’s success, and we’re looking forward to getting back in the studio with him and a great line-up of stars later this year for what promises to be another brilliant series of Celebrity Catchphrase.”
Meanwhile, Stephen Mulhern continues to present ITV’s reboots of Deal Or No Deal, You Bet!, plus Dancing On Ice and new project The Accidental Tourist alongside Ant & Dec. However, one show which will not be returning is In For A Penny.
An ITV source told TV Zone last Summer: “Whilst Stephen is busy filming other projects over the summer, In For A Penny continues to be a much loved format for ITV. So don’t put your pennies away just yet as the team could be popping up in your local town, to challenge even more members of the public to take part in their unique and madcap games in the future!”
The Accidental Tourist will see Stephen thrust out of his comfort zone to see if he can truly unearth the adventurer within. With Ant & Dec taking their cues from their favourite viral clips, they are sending Stephen somewhere he has never been before, in an effort to help to test his resolve and push his boundaries.
Stephen will encounter epic locations, exotic cultures and cuisines, incredible people and places and exhilarating activities he would never have chosen for himself. So will this ultimate immersive experience make Stephen finally embrace the unknown and unleash his inner traveller?
Previous episodes of Celebrity Catchphrase are available now on ITVX.
