Gordon, Gino and Fredās Road Trip is back for a third series onĀ ITV, which sees the legendary TV chefs on a spectacular food tour across Greece. In the first episode, āMamma Mia!ā, Gino takes a moment to reflect on his motherās passing in 2017.
Celebrity chef and TV host Gino DāAcampo shared a tearful moment with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix in Road Tripās series three premiere.
The three TV foodies started their latest culinary adventure in the idyllic island of Santorini.

āI think it has to be the most significant meal I had,ā he started to explain. ā13th of August 2017.
āI went to see my mum, and she cooked an amazing spaghetti vongole. Such a simple thing with garlic and a bit of cherry tomato and clams.ā
Gino and his motherās simple dinner would sadly be the last meal they shared together as Alba DāAcampo passed away shortly afterwards.
āThe day after, she died,ā Gino then revealed, prompting Fred to comfort him with an arm around his shoulder.

He continued: āI think⦠it feels that she knew that she was going to die.
āSo she put everything into that meal, you know what I mean?ā
This emotional start to Gordon, Fred and Ginoās Greek adventure faded out as the travellers admired the sweeping view of Santorini.
Fred gave his co-presenter some encouraging pats on the back as Gino reflected on his moving tale.
Looking down at the picturesque scene, the three food experts shared a hug after sharing their precious culinary memories.
āThis is what itās all about guys,ā Gino exclaimed. āBreathe⦠and silence.ā
Ginoās Road Trip recollection wasnāt the first time the British TV mainstay has paid tribute to his departed family members.
In 2019, he confirmed he had signed up as a judge on Bake Off Italia in part because he wished his parents were around to see it.
He told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning: āCan I be really honest with you?
āOne thing that I’m upset, I wish that my mum and dad were still alive because it would have been an amazing thing for them to see.ā
Holly gave him a warm hug as he went on: āThat’s the only thing, like if my mum would have seen that I would have been on top of the world.ā
Next time, the presenters will be sampling the best food Athens has to offer after visiting an ancient Olympic stadium.
