A major question surrounding Wednesday Season 2 has now been answered. After months of fan speculation, it’s official: Lady Gaga is part of the new season, bringing star power and intrigue to the ever-expanding Nevermore universe.
When Will Lady Gaga Appear?

Netflix confirmed Lady Gaga’s guest role during her performance at Tudum 2025: The Live Event, where she closed the show with a medley of “Zombieboy,” “Bloody Mary,” and “Abracadabra.”
She will appear in Part 2 of Season 2, which premieres on September 3.
Who Does She Play?
Lady Gaga portrays Rosaline Rotwood, described by Netflix as a “legendary” and “enigmatic” former teacher at Nevermore Academy. She is set to cross paths with Wednesday in an important storyline, though specific details about her involvement in the central mystery have not been disclosed.
Expanding the Nevermore Universe
Season 2 shifts focus further into the Addams family’s presence at Nevermore.
Morticia, Gomez, and Pugsley all take on larger roles.
Tension rises between Morticia and Wednesday — emotionally and physically — with director Tim Burton commenting:
“This year, we bring the family to Nevermore. Your family at school is the worst thing possible, isn’t it?”
Pugsley, played by Isaac Ordonez, also joins the school and struggles with his powers of electrokinesis.
Joanna Lumley joins the cast as Hester Frump, Wednesday’s Grandmama — one of the few characters Wednesday seems to genuinely respect and smile at.
Cast & Production Details
Steve Buscemi appears as Barry Dort, Nevermore’s new headmaster.
Other new cast members include Billie Piper, Thandiwe Newton, and Christopher Lloyd.
Returning favorites include Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), Emma Myers (Enid), and Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia).
The season was filmed in Ireland and split into two parts:
Part 1 (four episodes) is currently available to stream.
Part 2, featuring Lady Gaga’s debut, will be released on September 3.
The premiere episode, titled “Here We Woe Again,” was written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and directed by Tim Burton.
