Fans of Netflix’s steamy murder drama The Hunting Wives are on the prowl — and not just for plot twists.

A sharp-eyed TikTok user recently pointed out a curious moment in the show’s first episode: Sophie (played by Brittany Snow) opens her freezer — and inside is a box of Kraft mac and cheese. The viewer wrote,
“Of all the things that shocked me about The Hunting Wives, this is the part that really had me shook.”
Many fans joined the conversation, wondering if this was a simple oversight. After all, mac and cheese is typically stored in the pantry, not the freezer.
“I’ve been WAITING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO BRING THIS UP,” one commenter exclaimed.
However, others were quick to note that Kraft does make frozen mac and cheese products, suggesting it may not have been an error — but rather an intentional product placement.
What’s The Hunting Wives All About?

Now streaming on Netflix, The Hunting Wives is based on the 2021 novel of the same name. The story follows Sophie, a woman from Massachusetts who moves to Texas after her husband takes a new job. There, she gets drawn into the world of Margo Banks (Malin Akerman), the queen bee of an elite local social circle.
Margo, married to community figure Jed (Dermot Mulroney), leads a wild group of socialites who enjoy shooting, partying — and indulging in affairs with both men and women. The show’s mix of small-town glamor and dangerous secrets has quickly captivated audiences.
Mulroney described the series as full of “love affairs and naughty sex,” which includes the flirtatious — and at times heated — relationship between Margo and Sophie.
Behind the Scenes: Heat and Humor
According to Akerman, filming the more intimate scenes with Brittany Snow was both comfortable and fun.
“Brittany and I get along so well. She’s such a lovely human,” Akerman shared. “We would be sitting there kind of giggling like school girls, like, ‘Oh my God, this is so crazy. What a job we have!’”
She added that their off-screen friendship made the process easier:
“We always felt really well taken care of.”
Viewers Say: “This Show is INSANE!”
From TikTok reactions to viral clips, The Hunting Wives is sparking strong opinions. One viewer declared,
“This show is INSANE!”
Series creator Rebecca Cutter embraces the chaos. She told The Post her goal was to create something “fun, juicy, and sexy,” adding:
“Everyone is behaving so badly. I wanted to do an exploration of women behaving badly, unapologetic sexual conquest running rampant, and just something fun.”
