The fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher is in the can and in deep post-production with the fifth season being the final one, to be filmed this year. We will see Liam Hemsworth debut as Geralt of Rivia in these final seasons, who took over from Henry Cavill after Season 3. Netflix hasn’t shared much of anything regarding these new seasons, but thankfully Mimi M. Khayisa, who plays Fringilla, did.

Mimi teases the storylines of Season 4 and 5

In an interview with Metro, Mimi teased: “We’re going towards the final storylines, there’s a lot more of a collective feel. These last two seasons kind of work as one really long season. When we did our final episode of season four, we did two slightly different variations because we don’t know where the season’s gonna end yet.“

Mimi further spoke about that in a podcast withGaby Roslin: “The sorceresses find a way to either fight each other or to fight for each other. And there’s a lot of us together. But it’s quite heavy on that storyline of what you choose to fight for, which is really beautiful.“

Regarding the sorceresses, Mimi obviously hints at the Lodge of Sorceresses that was formed by Yennefer at the very end of Season 3. There were doubts regarding whether Fringilla and Francesca will join in the Netflix’s version of the Lodge, but it seems that they indeed will, judging by Mimi’s words.

Mimi recalls filming those scenes: “When we wrapped last season, which isn’t out yet, we suddenly had this wave of, “Guys, this is the start of the final storyline”. And it was all of us girls on set together, which is what it was when we had our first day, all of the sorceresses together. And we looked around and we were like, we’re almost done. And it was really emotional. It was really emotional because it’s been a massive part of our lives. We’ve bonded over it.“

Mimi talks about Liam Hemsworth joining The Witcher

Liam Hemsworth was cast in The Witcher in 2022 following Henry Cavill’s exit and Mimi acknowledges that the shoes that needed filling were quite big, but Liam does the work, despite being nervous sometimes: “When I see the work that that he’s been doing? Wow, what big shoes to step into; number one.“

She continues: “I think sometimes [with] actors, particularly at his level, we can forget the human. This human that’s also really nervous, the human that’s also like, “I’ve got a big job”, you know? Don’t let go of the fact that this is a massive job. It’s a massive platform. Those are big shoes, and he’s going to come with all of his feelings about that too.“
