Police in the United States have released bodycam footage of pop star Justin Timberlake’s 2024 arrest.

The footage shows Timberlake, 45, being pulled over by police in the Hamptons and going through a series of tests after he was suspected of drunk driving.

The bodycam footage, which runs for several hours, also includes the highly published conversation he was reported to have had with a police officer.

When asked by an officer why he is in town, Timberlake says he is “on a world tour”.

“Doing what?” the officer asks.

“Hard to explain,” Timberlake replies.

“World tour. I’m Justin Timberlake.”

The officer then asks for the singer to produce his license, before he is asked to complete a series of tests.

The Cry Me a River singer seems confused by some of the tests, which include a heel-toe line walk, and asks police to repeat the instructions.

“Sorry my heart is racing,” he can be heard saying.

“Sorry guys, I just want to understand.

“These are like really hard tests.”

The former NSYNC band member stumbles while attempting to walk in a straight line and is eventually handcuffed after failing other tests given to him.

A female friend arrived on scene and can be heard pleading with police to just let her driver the Grammy Award winner home.

“Can you guys please just do me a favour because you loved Bye Bye Bye or Sexyback. Do me one favour!” the woman can be heard saying.

Timberlake was placed in the back of a police car, while his female friend was asked to drive the singer’s car home.

The decision to release the vision came after a Freedom of Information request was granted, despite the Timberlake’s attempts to block it.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, however, later pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of driving while ability impaired.
