What began as a night of celebration for Houston rapper Sauce Walka and his TSF crew ended in tragedy, as a deadly shooting unfolded outside the Westin Hotel near the FedExForum in downtown Memphis on Saturday, March 22.

Memphis police believe Sauce Walka was targeted in shooting

According to police reports, the incident left one man dead at the scene and another hospitalized in stable condition. Though authorities have yet to officially release the names of the victims, multiple sources have confirmed the deceased is emerging rapper Sayso P, a rising talent signed under Sauce Walka’s TSF (The Sauce Factory) label.

Sauce Walka – real name Albert Walker Mondane – was injured in the shooting but is expected to recover. The Memphis Police Department has classified the incident as a targeted attack, but no suspects have been arrested at this time.

A Celebration Turns to Chaos

Hours before the shooting, Sauce Walka, Sayso P, and fellow artist Sosamann had performed at a local venue. Videos posted to social media show the trio celebrating their performance, laughing and posing for fans – unaware of the violent turn the night was about to take.

Eyewitnesses describe the moment shots rang out outside the hotel. Panic erupted in the area, with several bystanders fleeing the scene as emergency responders rushed in.

 Police Investigation Ongoing

While the police have confirmed that the attack does not appear to be random, they have not provided further details on motives or suspects. Surveillance footage is being reviewed, and investigators are interviewing witnesses in the area.
