Calling all true crime viewers! Netflix has released a new four-part documentary, Trust Me: The False Prophet, and viewers have been binge-watching the whole thing in one sitting.
After landing on the streamer on 8 April, the show has already shot to the number-three spot on Netflix‘s most-watched shows worldwide, and is in the number-one spot in the UK.

Christine Marie is a cult expert
Told over four compelling episodes, the series charts cult psychology expert Christine Marie who, alongside her videographer husband Tolga Katas, infiltrates a breakaway community of a Mormon sect in Utah to document and support a community in crisis.

One person penned: “Wow. Excellent exposé. Absolutely riveting. Watched all four episodes today. Really illuminates the patterns of manipulation as well as the bravery of those willing to break through. Five stars the whole way.”

What happens in Trust Me: The False Prophet?
The series charts the rise of Samuel Bateman, the man who declared himself the heir to the FLDS community, through the eyes of one couple who infiltrated his inner circle.
The previous prophet, Warren Jeffs, was sentenced to life in prison in 2011 for aggravated sexual assault of a 12-year-old child bride and 20 years for sexual assault of a 15-year-old child bride.
