What’s Next for Reuben Owen After Saying Goodbye to the Farm? — ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’ Star Breaks Silence Following the End of the Series

Reuben Owen, from Our Yorkshire Farm, has disclosed his aspirations to leave the farm behind.

The conclusion of Life in the Dales season two on Tuesday evening saw Reuben reflecting about the road ahead.

He confessed: “It’s been a hectic time. Three years in business, I’m 21 now. We’ve got plenty of diggers, plenty of work on, couple of bunch of team and staff on with me, got Jess [his girlfriend] with me, who’s an absolute star.

“Think the next thing we need to think about is getting somewhere a bit better to keep all these machines, and hopefully somewhere for me to live as well.”

Reuben then expressed his ambitions, saying: “That’s the dream next. Get myself a yard and a house. We’ll have to see what the future holds,” reports Leeds Live.

The latest episode also presented Reuben with a “life-threatening” predicament.

On hiatus from his business operations, Reuben lent a hand to his partner Jess during the lambing period on her family’s land.

A potentially dire situation arose while they were motoring through the pasture as they took notice of a just-born lamb requiring urgent care.

“I don’t think that ewe is letting that lamb suck, she keeps turning when he’s trying to suck,” Jess noted anxiously.

“This lamb was born about an hour ago, and he hasn’t sucked. He’s got cold and just laid and shivered. She hasn’t really licked him either,” Jess elaborated with concern after closer inspection.

Jess and Reuben were ultimately successful in prompting the ewe to sip its mother’s milk, with Reuben emphasising: “This will be the most important meal of his life.

“He needs to have it quickly as well because the colostrum is full of all the antibodies from the ewe.”

Reflecting on the critical nature of their task, Jess commented: “It’s really bad; it can be life-threatening,”.

She went on to explain her concerns: “Once his belly’s full, then it’ll be great. I was panicked because I thought if she goes in there with sixty sheep, they won’t know who she is.”
