Police have located the body of a man at a property in Victoria’s north-west who is believed to be a 65-year-old missing since Sunday.

Officers were at the property searching for Victorian man Richard, who was last seen on Hughes Street at Ouyen about 8am on Easter Sunday.

Authorities believe Richard then travelled to a property off the Mallee Highway, east of Ouyen, where police located a body on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers are yet to formally identify the man.

Mildura Police Inspector Dave Rowe said Richard’s ute and phone were found on the property and the death was being treated as suspicious.

“Further forensic work will be conducted at that property today by the forensic unit based in Melbourne, who are already at the scene,” he said.

“At this stage, I don’t have a lot more to add other than the family members have been advised of the update.”
