At the tender age of 21, Reuben Owen and his partner Jessica Ellwood are swiftly becoming one of television’s most enchanting couples, winning over audiences with their endearing love story.
Channel 5’s documentary series Reuben Owen: Life In The Dales has been charting the sweet romance between Reuben and Jessica, a Yorkshire shepherdess who bears a remarkable resemblance to his famous mother Amanda Owen.
Having grown up under the public eye on the popular programme Our Yorkshire Farm, Reuben shares insights into his family dynamics.
He told the Mirror: “Mum and Jess get on well, they talk about sheep together,” he says, noting: “They all approve and they all get along really well.”

The audience has taken a shine to Jessica, observing her as she joins Reuben in tasks ranging from mending potholes to extracting stone, while he reciprocates by helping with stray ewes and feeding lambs with a bottle.
Despite being an item for just shy of a year, the couple has already discussed their long-term aspirations, with Reuben detailing his ambition to acquire a property with Jessica.
He remarked: “We’re just waiting for something to come up. I’ve got to try and get a nice place, get a bit of a farm somewhere one day.

“It would be ideal to have a farm where I can park my diggers and she can have her sheep and cows.”
While marriage and children might not be in their immediate plans, Reuben acknowledges that he’s looking forward to such milestones “eventually”.
Nevertheless, following in the footsteps of his parents Amanda and Clive, who have nine children, doesn’t quite resonate with him.
Reuben shared a laugh as he spoke about his family aspirations, remarking: “I don’t think I fancy nine of them, I don’t fancy nine at all. We’ll have to wait and see.”

Yet, the 21-year-old admitted their relationship nearly stumbled at the starting line when he misplaced his wallet before their initial outing.
He elaborated: “It took me a while to ask her out, I wasn’t that brave but I just asked her one night.
“We went out for some tea one night and I’d lost my wallet and she had to pay for my dinner!”
