“Wake Up, Mum… Please Wake Up” — Three Young Children Break Down in Tears at Anaseini Waqavuki’s Cas:ket, A Final Goodbye That Shattered Even the Strongest Hearts

A mother-of-three allegedly murdered by her ex-partner has been described as a selfless person who always put others first.

Anaseini Waqavuki, 38, was found dead with stab wounds in the kitchen of her home in the Sydney suburb of Quakers Hill at the weekend.

Her new boyfriend Epi Naitini, 30, was found on a footpath with stab wounds to his stomach and hands by police called to Illabo St over reports of a disturbance about 5am on Sunday.

Naitini was rushed to Liverpool hospital in a critical condition but could not be saved.

Police have charged Waqavuki’s ex Anare Vunitabua, 47, with two counts of murder over the deaths.

Grieving family said Waqavuki, who moved to Australia from Fiji for a better life, was a loving parent.

“The kids really loved her. She was a good mum,” niece Georgina Bulenu said.

Bulena said the late mother was a special and selfless person.

“She always put everybody first, before her. [She was a] people person. Everyone loved her. Always smiling,” Bulenu said.

Loved ones have started a GoFundMe to pay for her funeral in Perth and flights for her kids.

It is a journey Waqavuki had always hoped would happen under brighter circumstances.

The accused did not apply for bail and will face court again in February.
