Looking for an absorbing and mind-bending thriller to binge-watch this week? ITVX might just have the answer.
The chilling crime drama, The Devil’s Hour, arrived on the streaming platform over the weekend – and if you’re a fan of atmospheric psychological series with a supernatural twist, you might want to check it out.
Created by Tom Moran (Wild Bill), the thriller follows a woman named Lucy who is woken every night at exactly 3:33 am by hellish visions. Her life begins to unravel after her name is inexplicably linked to a string of brutal local murders.
What is The Devil’s Hour about?
The story follows a woman named Lucy (Jessica Raine, Call the Midwife), a social worker who is woken up to terrifying visions every night at 3:33 am in the so-called ‘devil’s hour’ between 3 and 4 am.

Alongside her hellish night terrors, Lucy is also dealing with the breakdown of her marriage, a mother who has dementia and speaks to empty chairs and her emotionless and withdrawn son, Isaac.
The synopsis continues: “Her house is haunted by the echoes of a life that isn’t her own.”
“When Lucy’s name is inexplicably connected to a string of brutal murders in the area, the answers that have evaded her all these years will finally come into focus. Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who) plays a reclusive nomad, driven by a murderous obsession. He becomes the prime target of a police manhunt led by compassionate detective Ravi Dhillon, played by Nikesh Patel (Starstruck).”
The thriller, which is executive produced by Sue Vertue (Sherlock, Coupling) and Steven Moffat (Inside Man, Doctor Who), returned in 2024 with a second season and has been renewed for a third.
