A man remains in hospital under police guard after a woman was stabbed to death in a quiet Melbourne suburb.
Police were called to Delatite Court, a leafy residential street in Vermont in the city’s east just before 10pm on Tuesday following reports of a stabbing inside a home.
A woman, 39, was found dead at the scene.
A man, 39, was arrested and treated by paramedics before he was taken to hospital under police guard.
The man is yet to be interviewed by detectives. No charges have yet been laid.
‘The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing,’ a police statement read.
‘It is believed the parties are known to one another.’
