Detectives have launched a homicide investigation after the body of a 42-year-old woman was discovered inside a home in Bellbird Park, a suburb of Ipswich west of Brisbane.
Emergency services were called to a property on Beryl Court at approximately 11:30am AEST last Thursday following reports of a disturbance in the street. Neighbours had alerted authorities after concerns were raised about unusual activity at the address. When officers arrived, they made a grim discovery inside the home — the body of a 42-year-old woman from nearby Springfield.
The residence was immediately declared a crime scene as forensic teams began combing through the property for evidence. Police confirmed that initial observations suggested the woman’s body may have been inside the house for some time before it was located, adding a chilling layer to the unfolding investigation.
