The parents of a young man killed in a motorbike crash have been left devastated, just six months after losing another son.
Leroy Cane, 23, was riding a green Kawasaki Ninja motorbike when he lost control and crashed on West Burleigh Road at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast on April 2.
Police said he was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.
His mother, Leanne Whitehouse, and father, Paul Cane, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, saying they were “devastated by the loss”.
“It is with heavy hearts that our family share the news of our Leroy Cane tragic motorbike accident last night just 6 months and 6 days after his brother Ryan Cane tragically died of electrocution,” Whitehouse wrote on April 3.
“Paul and I are devastated as parents.
“We kindly respect compassion and love as we process our love.”

His brother Ryan, 20, was electrocuted while standing next to rail tracks in the Central Queensland town of Duaringa on September 28.
Just days before Leroy’s death, his mother had shared a post reflecting on her grief.
“A mum should never have to say, my son died six months ago,” she wrote on March 28.
“There is a coronial investigation, and we have been told so little about how, or why, this tragedy happened.
“They say he died instantly, but my mind still cannot comprehend that I will never see Ryan move through life again.”
Tributes have since flooded social media, with family and friends expressing their heartbreak and support.
“In the space of just six months, our family has experienced a tragedy that no parent should ever endure,” cousin Jade Anderson wrote on a GoFundMe page set up to support the family.

She described Leroy as “a free spirit” who loved motorbikes.
“He loved his dogs, his mates, and his family. But his real passion? His motorbike, and he lived every day like an adventure,” Anderson wrote.
“Those who knew him will remember his infectious energy and his ability to turn an ordinary day into a story worth telling.”
She said Ryan was a quiet adventurer who loved bull riding.
“Bull riding was his passion, and the kind of wild, fearless pursuit that defined him,” she wrote of Ryan.
She said the young man was deeply loved by his family and friends.
Another relative said words could not capture the family’s grief.
“Leroy you have left another hole in our hearts that will not heal. Our crazy funny loving boy, six months after losing Ryan,” she wrote.
“Words can’t explain how shattered we all are, you bought so much fun, love, stress and everything in between.”
Police said investigations into the crash are ongoing.
Anyone with information, dashcam footage, or who saw the motorbike before the crash is urged to come forward.
