One of Australia’s most notorious paedophiles has been released from prison after 25 years behind bars.

The government launched a campaign to keep the 82-year-old in prison, however, as those court proceedings do take place, Liddy has been granted home detention under strict conditions after being released from a remand centre today.

The convicted paedophile will be electronically monitored and is barred from accessing the internet or stepping within 50 metres of schools or playgrounds.

If the government fails to impose indefinite jail time for Liddy, it has also applied to have him strictly monitored.
