MASSIVE INFERNO ERUPTS AT SYDNEY STORAGE FACILITY 😱 DOZENS OF FIREFIGHTERS RUSH TO BATTLE RAGING BLAZE AS THICK SMOKE FILLS THE SKY
Dozens of people have been evacuated after a major fire tore through a storage facility in Sydney’s southwest.
Firefighters were called to reports of the blaze at a Storage King facility in Chipping Norton on Wednesday afternoon with 30 people calling emergency services about the out-of-control fire.
About 120 firefighters and 30 fire trucks were sent, with crews working to contain the fire.
7NEWS helicopter footage shows thick black smoke billowing into the sky as flames continue to engulf the facility.
One witness told 7NEWS she fled after hearing three explosions.
“Three explosions I heard … and we just all ran out because we were frightened,” she said.

Another said the fire spread rapidly.
“All of a sudden there were just fire engines we heard, and the next minute I’d go and have another look, just blank smoke just pouring out all the time,” he said.
Fire and Rescue NSW said firefighters were battling fierce flames and zero visibility inside the facility.
One man tried to fight the blaze with a small hose before bystanders intervened.
“We grabbed a guy that was trying to put out the fire,” a witness said.
“We just dragged him out because his whole life’s burning away as well and told him it’s not worth it.”

The blaze has caused significant losses, with personal belongings and commercial property believed to have been destroyed.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area, while nearby businesses are being asked to remain alert to emergency activity.
