THEY WERE WALKING HOME WITH THEIR MUM AFTER SCHOOL… DAYS LATER, TWO LITTLE CHILDREN WERE FAREWELLED IN A HEARTBREAKING BUDDHIST CEREMONY AFTER CABRAMATTA TRAGEDY

Two young children who were tragically hit and killed by a car at Cabramatta last week have been laid to rest in an emotional Buddhist ceremony.

Brother and sister Harry, 1, and Katherine, 5, had barely begun their journey when it was taken away in an instant, their heartbroken parents paying tribute as the youngsters were given a traditional farewell.

Crippled in pain from her own injuries, their mother Sok Ram leaned down for a final goodbye to both her children at the service in Leppington.

Katherine was remembered as a lover of books, dolls and dressing up, while Harry was described as gentle and always smiling.

Ram told mourners how her perfect world changed last Wednesday while walking home from school pickup at Cabramatta.

“The came the most terrible day we were involved in a traffic accident which caused us to lose both our son and daughter forever,” she told the service.

The mother was also injured when an SUV struck her and the children as they crossed the road, and she wished no other person her pain.

Their father Vundy Tha struggled to make sense of the tragedy, but thanked family, friends and the school community.

“It means a lot. It means a lot. Thank you,” he said.

Photos of the family were beamed through the chapel, showing birthday parties, holidays, dress-ups and Katherine’s first day of school.

Now, it’s just the two of them.

Remarkably, the parents hold no anger towards the driver, even saying they forgive him.

“I forgive him already,” Tha said last week.

The 56-year-old driver has not been charged, with police still investigating the tragedy.

Katherine’s school will hold its own memorial for classmates later this week.
