A man has been charged with murder and a woman with hindering an investigation after another man died in a driveway following an alleged assault on the New South Wales North Coast.
Emergency services rushed to a home Tweed Heads about 2am on Saturday after multiple triple-0 calls about a man who had allegedly been assaulted.
Police allege the 34-year-old man was seriously injured at a home at The Hermitage by a man known to him.
The 34-year-old was then allegedly driven by a woman known to him to a property on Seaview Crescent, where he was left on the driveway, police say.
Paramedics treated the man however he could not be revived and died at the scene.
A short time later, police arrested a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman at a home in Tweed Heads.
Detective Senior Constable Gary Sheehan said all three people were known to each other.

“It’s a serious matter and someone has lost their life, we will be looking at all lines of inquiry,” he told reporters on Saturday.
Sheehan said the man had sustained “very serious injuries”.
He confirmed a large metal pole recovered from the scene had been taken by forensic crews.
The 31-year-old man has been charged with murder (domestic violence) while the woman was charged with hinder discovery evidence regarding serious indictable offence.

“Police will allege in court the woman supplied false information about the assault to officers,” officers said in a statement.
Tweed local Sapodia Lindley told 7NEWS she woke up to yelling and screaming coming from the street, which continued for about 20 minutes.
“It sounded like a fight,” she said.
“It’s a little bit surreal, it’s usually a quiet street.”
Crime scenes have been established at both locations and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced, police said.
The man was refused bail to face court on Sunday. The woman was granted conditional bail to face court on June 29.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
