‘IT STARTED AS AN ARGUMENT ABOUT MONEY’: PODCASTER RECEIVES LIFE SENTENCE FOR KI-LLING GIRLFRIEND AS COURT REVEALS CHILLING DETAILS OF FATAL CONFRONTATION
A podcaster who murdered his girlfriend in a frenzied attack after an argument over a rent inspection will spend at least 18 years behind bars.
Tobias Marcus Nuttall, 33, admitted fatally stabbing Alisha Lauren Hendren-Krippner, 30, nine times at her Perth home in August 2025.

He was sentenced in the Western Australian Supreme Court on Thursday to life in prison, with parole eligible after 18 years.
“You attacked Alisha in a vicious and completely uncontrolled manner,” Justice Amanda Forrester said.
“You not only took Alisha’s life … but you have been responsible for shattering the lives of countless others.
“Her family will never be able to recover from the violent manner in which she was taken.”
Hendren-Krippner died in hospital after suffering deep penetrating stab wounds to her neck and body, and other injuries to her head and arms.
Her father Calvin Krippner said his daughter had a beautiful laugh and she would light the room when she entered.
“She had so much to give,” he said in his victim impact statement read to the court.
“Part of me died that day, too. A father should never have to bury his child.
“Alsiha was my daughter, my pride and my joy.”

Hendren-Krippner’s mother, Anita Krippner, said her family was trapped in a nightmare.
“There are moments when it does not feel real,” she said.
“The sadness is overwhelming.”
Nuttall, who has a philosophy degree, was found with blood-covered hands at the scene and a 25-centimetre dagger after he called Triple Zero.
The former service station attendant, who had been kicked out of his mother’s home due to his drug use, claimed Hendren-Krippner initiated the altercation, picking up the knife during the argument about the state of her home before the rental inspection.
He asserted Hendren-Krippner hit him, and he flew into a rage and tackled her, later admitting to first responders he had killed her.
Justice Forrester said she was unable to determine exactly what happened at the home.

The court heard the attack happened soon after the pair had returned to Perth from a trip to Sydney, where they had used illicit drugs and argued as their relationship unravelled.

“I’m in a fairly evil situation,” Nuttall said in a text message to his father before he murdered his lover.
“What should have been divine was hell.”
Nuttall was later found to have methamphetamine in his system, with the court hearing he was likely coming down from the effects of the drug when the attack happened.
His lawyer Simon Watters said Nuttall was genuinely remorseful and felt vile over the incident.
Justice Forrester rejected this, saying Nuttall had sought to intellectualise his actions and had not fully taken responsibility for them.
Nuttall was the co-host of a news review podcast called WakingWorld before his arrest.
