‘Scary’ Netflix thriller with ‘phenomenal actor’ is coming soon(Image: NETFLIX)

Netflix fans should make sure not to miss out on a gripping new survival thriller that’s hitting the streamer next month.

Led by two massive Hollywood stars, the first-look at the gritty and violent horror film has left viewers all saying the same thing about the stellar cast.

Apex features Charlize Theron as Sasha, an adventurous rock climber embarking on a dangerous solo journey across the Australian wilderness.

When she runs into an unhinged local hunter (played by Taron Egerton), she’s forced to brave the elements and keep her wits about her to make it out alive.

Also starring Eric Bana, who led the streamer’s hit murder mystery drama Untamed to massive success, Apex is a must-watch when it arrives in just under a month’s time on 24th April.

Director Baltasar Kormákur helmed the new film, known for Idris Elba’s equally nail-biting thriller Beast as well as directing an episode of the hit BBC historical drama King & Conqueror.

Viewers are already raving about the new release after getting a glimpse of Apex’s unbearable tension and edge-of-your-seat action with the new trailer.

“Taron Egerton is really a phenomenal actor,” one YouTuber commented, and another said: “The way I sign in the second I see Charlize Theron in anything.”

Someone else wrote: “Charlize doesn’t hold back with the action and works hard. You know that’s actually her in the kayak. And Taron chasing her. Looks like it’s worth a watch.”

Lead actress Theron is also producing the film and is continuing her collaborations with Netflix after the action films The Old Guard and its 2025 sequel as well as the young adult fantasy film The School for Good and Evil.

Meanwhile, Egerton has also appeared in streaming hits including Netflix’s 2024 thriller Carry-On with Jason Bateman. The Kingsman star has also most recently appeared in the Apple TV dramas Black Bird and Smoke.

Apex releases Friday, 24th April on Netflix.
